Tony Nader (born 1955) is a Lebanese physician and neuroscientist who serves as the global head of the Transcendental Meditation movement. He holds both an M.D. and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from MIT. After Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s death in 2008, Nader succeeded him as leader of the international TM organization and was designated head of the movement’s administrative structure known as the “Global Country of World Peace.”
Nader now oversees the same organizational network that hosted Jeffrey Epstein’s 1988 visit to Maharishi International University in Fairfield, Iowa—an introduction facilitated by Epstein associate William Elkus, who brought Epstein to meet the Zimmerman family, major MIU benefactors. This visit represents a documented point of intersection between Epstein’s financial network and the TM movement’s institutional leadership.
In October 2024, Nader was inaugurated as the sixth president of MIU, succeeding physicist John Hagelin, and continues to lead the global TM organization and its affiliated institutions.
