Shawna Rivera is a survivor of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse who shared her experiences publicly, including in the 2020 Netflix docuseries Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich.

As a teenager, Rivera also experienced an earlier, separate trauma. In June 2000, she witnessed the fatal beating of 8-year-old Jose “Joey” Torres at a mobile home in Hobe Sound, Florida. Rivera later testified in the case, in which her father, Bradley Dial, and his then-girlfriend, Tammy Huff, were accused of killing the child.

Rivera has described being targeted by Epstein in the aftermath of this period, when she was approximately 14 years old and her father was incarcerated.

She reported being lured to Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion under the pretext of providing massages for money, and said she continued visiting the residence for three to four years, during which she experienced ongoing sexual abuse.
