Jill Dodd is an American former model, fashion designer, and author best known as the founder and original designer of ROXY. Her 2017 memoir The Currency of Love chronicles her experiences in the 1980s Paris modeling industry and her time as one of Saudi billionaire arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi's "pleasure wives."
Born in California, Dodd moved to Paris at age 20 in the early 1980s and signed with Wilhelmina Models. In 1980, at age 19 or 20, Dodd alleges she was raped by Gérald Marie, who worked at Paris Planning agency and later became European head of Elite Model Management. She was one of more than 15 women who came forward with allegations against Marie. French prosecutors opened a criminal investigation in September 2020 but closed it in February 2023 on statute of limitations grounds.
In the early 1980s, Dodd met Adnan Khashoggi at a party on the French Riviera. She was invited to join him on his yacht Nabila. Khashoggi informed her that while he had a legal wife, Saudi law allowed him up to 11 "pleasure wives"—a harem of young women who accompanied him in exchange for a lavish lifestyle.
After leaving modeling, Dodd spent 25 years in international fashion business, founding ROXY. While she has no direct connection to Epstein or Brunel, her memoir provides historical context for understanding precursor systems that normalized exploitation of young models decades before Epstein's operation.
