James Hatt is an English barrister and former telecommunications executive who worked internationally across the UK, Moscow, Latvia, and New York. His career became intertwined with the Maxwell family and their business network during the 1990s.
Told FBI he had information about the following individuals who believes has some involvement or contact with GM and JE:
Hatt was sent to Moscow in 1988 while working for Cable & Wireless PLC to help develop business opportunities related to Alcatel's activity in the USSR. During the early 1990s, he became involved in telecom privatization efforts, including in Latvia. In 1993, he was introduced to Kevin and Ghislaine Maxwell, beginning a professional relationship that would span several years.
Throughout the mid-to-late 1990s, Hatt participated in numerous business discussions and meetings with the Maxwells. These conversations frequently involved Grigory Luchansky, Latvia telecom transactions, and alleged fund flows via Jeffrey Epstein.
After moving to New York in 1996, he attended multiple meetings with Kevin and Ghislaine Maxwell in both London and New York. While present for financial discussions, Hatt was sometimes asked to leave the room during private conversations between the siblings.
Hatt later became involved in business discussions surrounding Kevin's company "Telemund." According to his statements, many of these meetings centered around maintaining access to Luchansky. His last contact with Ghislaine occurred in the early 2000s, while he last saw Kevin approximately three years before 2020.
In 2020 and 2021, Hatt was interviewed by U.S. authorities regarding his knowledge of these relationships and transactions.
