Alan Courtney "Ace" Greenberg (1927-2014) was CEO of Bear Stearns (1978-1993), transforming it from a partnership into a public company. He hired Jeffrey Epstein around 1976 after Epstein tutored his child at Dalton School.
Epstein was promoted to limited partner in 1980 but resigned in 1981 following a Regulation D violation and SEC insider trading investigation. Bear Stearns collapsed in 2008 and was sold to JPMorgan Chase.
